Do families have to consent to being recorded?
Yes, and we help you get it right. Consent requirements vary by state and by setting, and a clinic session and a school-based session aren't always governed by the same rules. We work through the consent workflow with every partner during onboarding so it fits your state, your setting, and your existing intake paperwork, before any sessions are captured.
What happens to the recordings?
Recordings are retained only for a limited period, long enough to generate the session data and let your team review it, and are then permanently deleted. While they exist they're encrypted at rest and in transit, and governed by the same HIPAA and FERPA protections described above.

What about non-verbal or minimally verbal learners?
This is exactly why Field Nine watches as well as listens. A tool that only transcribes speech would miss most of what happens in a session with a minimally verbal learner: the prompts, the gestures, the physical responses, the AAC and PECS exchanges. Because our glasses capture what's seen alongside what's said, the moments that matter still get recorded.
Does it work with our EMR?
Yes. Field Nine has an open API built to integrate with any EMR, whatever your practice runs. Data sheets and session notes come out formatted to drop straight into your record, and direct integrations are rolling out with our launch partners. If you're joining the pilot, tell us which system you run and we'll prioritize it.
Do clinicians have to change how they run sessions?
No. Your therapist puts the glasses on and runs the session exactly as they do today. Nothing new to learn mid-session, nothing in their hands, no tablet to click back to. That's the entire point.
How much training does the team need?
Very little, and you won't do it alone. Pilot partners get white-glove onboarding: we set your team up, sit with them through the first sessions, and stay reachable while everyone settles in.
What does it cost?
